Our members have voted: we have strong new contracts, thanks to a massive organizing effort and a five-day strike that showed the power of higher ed labor and our determination to fight for a better Rutgers for ALL of us.
The PTLFC-AAUP-AFT Executive Board announces a call for self-nominations for twelve (12) seats on the Executive Board. The term for each seat is two (2) years.

Our union looked forward to this bargaining session, hoping to make progress on three crucial proposals that concern one of our core demands: job security.
Monday’s bargaining session was focused on Evaluations (Article 12) and Appointments (Article 6). This was a small, combined session (FT/Grad/Postdoc and PTLs).
We are inches away from a TA (tentative agreement) on Article 11. The administration made several moves in the right direction. (See details below.) We are also close to reaching agreement on Article 8, although a few sticking points remain.
At our large bargaining session on Wednesday, we discussed counter proposals on Article 6 (Appointments), 8 (Personnel Files), and 11 (Professional Development).
We had a 2-hour bargaining session on Friday morning, Jan. 27 concerning the counter proposal to our proposed Article 4 on “Fractional Appointments.”
At Friday’s bargaining session, negotiations focused on Article 5 (Grievance Procedure) and Article 11 (Professional Development Fund).
