Dear colleague,
The members of the Rutgers Adjunct Faculty Union have voted to endorse LaMonica McIver for New Jersey’s 10th Congressional district and to endorse Adam Hamawy for New Jersey’s 12th Congressional district.
Read more about the candidates below:
Representative LaMonica McIver has been a progressive champion in the US House, supporting voting rights, civil rights, access to education, and Medicare for All. She has been on the front lines fighting for the rights of those pursued by ICE and the Department of Homeland Security. She was arrested by DHS as she attempted to exercise Congressional oversight on the conditions of detainees at Newark’s Delaney Hall ICE facility, and she continues to be targeted by the administration through legal action. Read her full platform here.
Dr. Adam Hamawy is a humanitarian, surgeon, veteran, and small business owner fighting for New Jersey’s 12th District. He is an advocate for increasing funding for public education, canceling student debt, Medicare for All, abolishing and prosecuting ICE, among other progressive causes. Read his full platform here.
We are proud to endorse both candidates for U.S. Congress and encourage members in those districts to vote for them in the upcoming election on June 2.
In solidarity,
The Executive Board of the Rutgers Adjunct Faculty Union
