From the Legislative Committee of the Rutgers PTLFC-RUAAUP-AFT: Welcome! We believe in shared governance for higher education. But we don’t just mean shared governance within Rutgers. We believe as public employees of the state of New Jersey the practice of civic participation and active political engagement is vital to a functioning, healthy democracy. We’re educators, not lobbyists for any special interests. Our work is to educate our members and the general public about the role adjuncts have in higher education and to enact legislation that furthers the well being of adjuncts at Rutgers and beyond. 

Our current legislative focus is centered on healthcare for adjuncts in New Jersey.
